Housing assistance from Forum Housing Association in Cheshire

Forum Housing Association provides services to younger people across the Cheshire area. In fact, they help over 300 individuals per week from one of the programmes they provide. There are accommodations in many towns, including Wirral, Cheshire West, and other areas. But they also offer other assistance, such as mediation between landlords and tenants.

Temporary accommodations are available from several projects. This can help young people that are sleeping rough by giving them a place to stay each night. The charity will provide them other support services as well while they stay there. The Association can offer them free meals and other practical support, such as clothing and access to a laundry.

The short term housing is also for people in Cheshire that are seeking independence. Some young people just need some additional guidance so they can achieve their potential. This is where Forum Housing Association and their supportive accommodations can also step in and assist. More information on those services, such as the job training, are below.

Based on a plan put together, some of the young people will be able to use the Forum Housing Association Supported Lodgings scheme. Not only will the client be given a place to stay, but this will include the job services from New Horizons and in general give clients more space to create their own, independent life while they live in high quality, temporary accommodations.

There are hosts from across Cheshire that partner with Forum Housing Association. There is a support line for the clients and they will have a plan put together to help them gain independence. For more information, young people can ring the charity at 0151 355 0222 for information on how to apply.

Job training as well as learning schemes are available for young people. There are many agencies involved in offering this service, known as New Horizons, including Forum Housing Association, Greater Merseyside Connexions Partnership as well as Triodos Bank.

Over 3,000 young people can receive assistance from this scheme. The aim is to improve their educational access, which can then lead to employment with a livable wage. There is coaching given to them as well as financial literary workshops. This will help the client be able to save the cash to pay the deposit or rent in advance on their own home.

Clients of the Forum Housing Association job training come from many backgrounds. They can be homeless or have learning disabilities. The charity will even help young offenders. Another job training programme is New Futures. This is for young people under the age of 18 only. So many people can receive help in finding employment.

Mediation is one programme used by Forum Housing Association to prevent homeless in Chester as well as Cheshire West. The charity partners with the local councils on this scheme. There are many different programmes offered for tenants that are in a crisis and threatened with an eviction. Not only will the Association staff try to find a payment plan for any rent arrears due to the landlord, but they will also refer the client to council deposit schemes if the person needs to move into more affordable housing.

This service is part of the Forum Housing Association schemes for young people. The experienced staff at the charity can use mediation to keep the tenant in their current home or flat.

The Forum Housing Association charity shop is available for all families in Cheshire. Anyone can shop there for clothing, furniture, beds, books, and more. The items will be affordable. The Just For You shop is open from Monday to Friday and is located in Birkenhead on Market Street, and offers a range of items for sale ranging from clothing, books and CD’s to household items. The money raised there will be used to pay for the schemes provided by the Association.

The temporary accommodations are located all across the region, including in Sefton as well as Chester. But the main office of Forum Housing Association has a post of 84 Market Street, Birkenhead, Wirral, CH41 6HB. Or the number to ring is 0151 649 9718.
