Glebe Centre help for low income in West Midlands

Residents in West Midlands that live in poverty can turn to the Glebe Centre. The organisation will focus both on the low income as well as individuals that are homeless, unemployed or abusing substances. The aim is to provide basic needs while staff assist clients with improving their life.

They assistance by offering low cost meals or vouchers to food banks in Walsall, in the city of Birmingham as well as across West Midlands. They also partner with other not-for-profits, such as Walsall MBC Mark Reynolds on solving housing problems, and dental care is available from a mobile clinic as well. The advice ranges from applying for benefits, low cost housing and health needs.

People of all races and religions can get help from Glebe Centre, and the charity agency will not discriminate based on any factors. Whether it is a meal or some free advice, staff will work with the client to try to address their needs and answer questions.

Support is available to the vulnerable. It comes in many forms and can address a variety of problems. The charity will help the homeless as well as substance misusers. Another focus is on families threatened with running out of fuel or in rent arrears. All of the support is free and confidential to people in Walsall region on a low income.

When it comes to housing assistance, they offer advice first and foremost. The homeless can be referred to temporary accommodations. Then, the Glebe Centre will direct them to deposit schemes for moving into a new home. Other support includes counselling, health benefits, and job training too.

A team from MBC Mark Reynolds out of Birmingham drops in once a week or so. They answer questions on any housing problems that the client has. There is advice on dealing with rent arrears to locating a home in the private sector. They will even help people in finding a new home to live in.

Food and meals are available from the organisation. Anyone using the services of the centre will provide the client with food. It will be in the form of a meal or drink. Most of this is offered for a low cost and ranges from Breakfast from 50p to lunches at £1.00. Soup, tea, and other beverages are normally served for free or under 50p. But if the West Midlands resident is in a crisis, then vouchers can be given to local food banks.

This is only provided several times per year, and the Glebe Centre staff can give the dates of this care to residents who are interested. The care, such as cleanings, are available for free for those in poverty. There may even be some surgery arranged.

Sometimes the homeless need podiatry care. This is available at the centre. This health care is also free, and appointments are not even needed by the centre. They will check up on them and offer assistance as needed.
