Tenants facing homeless, or people that need help in moving into a new private sector home can turn to Homes for All. The organisation administers various schemes and programmes for housing needs, ranging from bond guarantees that can be used for deposits to fast tracking housing benefits and ongoing advice.
The aim is to help people across Manchester and Oldham both access private tenancy’s as well as sustain them by paying the rent on time. The Homes for All Letting Agency also partners with charities and councils in the area to provide all types of housing solutions.
With the increasing costs of rent and move in expenses occurring across Manchester and nearby cities, many would be solid tenants just do not have the funds to pay those up front move in costs. These are the people that the bond guarantee schemes are meant to help, as well as those that are homeless. As too many people are faced with that one challenge of coming up with funds for that deposit and just need some short term assistance.
Homes for All will guarantee a deposit of as much as £500. This will only be done for certain qualified individuals, including they need to meet the criteria below.
After that 6 months is done, the landlord will in most cases ask the tenant to replace the bond, and in these cases cash will be needed. So the bond guarantee will only last for up to 6 months, and during this time frame the tenant will need to save a portion of their income in order to take over the deposit on their own. Homes for All can help people during this time-frame, by giving them tips on saving or increasing their income.
Sometimes the money for the deposit is not enough on its own. In these instances, many other housing assistance programmes are available in the greater Manchester area as well. In some cases, the bond guarantee is used for the deposit, but the tenant may need additional support in the future. In these cases, clients can learn about housing benefit applications. This is a another government service that can provide assistance for rental payments on a recurring basis.
If someone needs help in locating a property, then Homes for All may sometimes be able to assist with that process as well. They have information on landlords that have participated in the scheme in the past, and that may still want to let out their properties in the future. They will also know about properties that were used for the scheme in the past.
