Bristol Salvation Army supportive housing and resettlement assistance

There are several housing solutions provided by the Salvation Army. The charity is focused on the vulnerable as well as individuals on a low income that need affordable housing. They have a resettlement scheme, provide accommodations from Lifehouse, and other support services.

The team at the Logos House centre also partner with other agencies in Bristol. This is done in order to offer the individual comprehensive solutions to their housing emergency. The aim of these different agencies is to resolve homelessness in the city.

Temporary accommodations in Bristol

The long term homeless or people with a history of sleeping rough can benefit from the Bridge Programme. There is treatment provided to those who need it, such as substance misusers or those with too much alcohol usage. The aim is to end the cycle of poverty and homelessness, and help people live independently.

For those that need it, a Detox, Preparation and Rehab program is part of the Salvation Army Bridge Programme as well. The treatment will be set up to meet the specific goals of the person that is seeking assistance. They use the latest treatment procedures in order to help clients. People that use the Bridge will also have access to accommodations during the process.

Upon successful completion of the sessions required from the Bridge, case workers will help the formerly homeless find a new affordable property in Bristol. If funds are needed to pay for a deposit, then help may be provided for that too from referrals.

Additional accommodation is available as part of Lifehouse. This is another programme for the homeless, however it is only a short term housing unit. People who stay they will be offered resources such as on employment and job training. Medical care and mental health issues can also be addressed if needed. Salvation Army resettlement services

A team of specialists at the Salvation Army will help families or individual on a low income find a new home. They have different resources used for this. Schemes are focused on rough sleepers, they have assistance for elderly persons in Bristol, and referrals to government housing allowances. The Logos House can also have information on private landlords that take part in bond guarantees or other deposit schemes.

The staff at the Logos Housing offer ongoing tenancy support as well. They will partner with them as they strive towards independent living, employment and independent living. A key focus is always on preventing further homelessness in the future, after the tenant has been stabilized.

Throughout this resettlement process, the Salvation Army will also help service users with applications for housing benefits or rental deposits schemes. They will assist with any other social benefits the person may need, and assist with working towards their goals.

Some of the services are operated in partnership with other Bristol agencies. This is all done in an effort to make the transition successful and help the individual sustain their tenancy. After all, the aim of the Resettlement team is to ensure the transition to a new accommodation is successful.

These relationships have been created with other charities, churches, and partners. The Salvation Army know that one organisation will not have all the solutions to a challenge, so they work together to help the vulnerable. Staff among these agencies have good communication between them.
