They can even help people in debt arrears in partnership with the not-for-profit Trent Debt Advice centre in London, with a focus on Nottingham and Islington area.

Meals and practical support from Trent Vineyard

There is a drop in centre known as Archway and also two days per week volunteers go on the streets to visit the homeless. Many of the services are offered in partnership with other groups, such as Nottingham University. Whether a person drops in, or is visited by a volunteer, they can get the following assistance from the charity.

If an individual is hungry, then free food may be given to them. This ranges from a hot breakfast or noon meal from Archway to a voucher for a London food bank. They also even offer drinks and dog food if the family has a pet. One partner on offering emergency parcels of groceries or a hot meal is the charity known as Malt Cross.

Trent Vineyard also provides personal hygiene items for free. This can include a toothbrush or toothpaste, and most of this is for the homeless or rough sleepers. While the aim is to always provide food to feed the low income, this other practical support is critical as well.

This practical support also includes signposting. This is for a vulnerable family as well as the homeless. Really, any person that is facing a hardship can use this service from Trent Vineyard.

The client will learn about assistance programmes that are available in both the Nottingham borough as well as greater London or the UK. The information given will depend on the person’s need. Some of what they may learn about includes welfare in London or housing programmes. Families that need more food for their families can be given a voucher for one of the distribution centres. Or find additional locations of food banks for the low income.
